Lydia Dockter, 101 of McClusky died Monday, May 2, 2011 at the St. Aloisius Nursing in Harvey. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday May 4, 2011 at Hertz Funeral Home, McClusky. Burial will be at the McClusky City Cemetery. Visitation will be in Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey on Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to service time at Hertz Funeral Home, McClusky.
Lydia was born on April 19, 1910 on the family farm in the Lincoln Valley area northeast of McClusky. Lydia was the daughter of Frederick and Magdalena (Dockter) Dockter. She grew up on the family farm and moved with her parents to McClusky. She was a homemaker and cared for her parents in McClusky until their deaths. She spent many years in McClusky before moving to Harvey in 2000. While in Harvey she lived independently in an apartment and later entered the St. Aloisius Nursing Home. Lydia attended the McClusky Baptist Church.
Lydia is survived by one sister-in-law, Alvina Dockter, McClusky and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lydia was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Fred, Gust, Solomon, Ben, Walter; sisters, Emily Dockter, Otillia Ehrman and Katherina Kenyon. Arrangements with Hertz Funeral Homes of Harvey and McClusky.
