November 11, 1923 – June 23, 2018
Lorraine Patzner, 94, Fargo formerly of Minot and Hurdsfield died Saturday, June 23, 2018 at the Evantide of Fargo where she was under the care of Hospice.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Goodrich, ND. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service.
Lorraine Lavon Weisz was born on November 11, 1923 to Andrew and Lydia (Schmitke) Weisz on a farm north of Hurdsfield, ND. At the age of 9, she moved with her family to a farm south of Hurdsfield where she attended country school. In 1946 the Weisz family moved to Walla Walla, Washington returning to Hurdsfield in 1951. Lorraine was once married to Robert Patzner. They had two sons, Terry and Andrew. The family lived in Minot where Lorraine delivered newspapers for many years and provided day care for several families over the years. She relocated to Fargo after she tragically lost her home in the Minot flood of 2011.
Lorraine had a green thumb and loved her flowers and happily shared pictures of them with her family and friends. She was a member of the Veterans Of Foreign Wars and Moose Lodge Auxiliaries both in Minot where she enjoyed dancing and socializing with people. She enjoyed scrapbooking as well as collecting Owls. She had a great appreciation for birds.
Lorraine is survived by her son, Andy and his wife Brenda of Fargo; daughter-in-law Donna Patzner of Minot, four grandchildren whom she loved dearly; brother, Robert Weisz of Hurdsfield; five sisters, Helen Myres of Cedar City, Utah, Virginia Widicker of Bowdon, ND, Dessa Hardin of Loma Linda, California, Dorothy Weisz and Betty Gutknecht both of Lincoln, Nebraska.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents and son Terry.
