Lorraine Kukert 92 of McClusky died January 1, 2014 at the St. Aloisius Hospital of Harvey. There will be private funeral service and interment in the McClusky City Cemetery.
There will be a public visitation on Friday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Hertz Funeral Home in McClusky for those that wish to sign the register book.
Lorraine was born on November 3, 1921 on the family farm northwest of McClusky to Philip and Rosina (Voegele) Hegel. She grew up and attended country school near McClusky. Lorraine married Walter Kukert on October 15, 1940 in McClusky. They lived and farmed south of Kief for several years before moving to a farm 12 miles northwest of McClusky. They moved into McClusky in 1969. She worked at the McClusky Public School in the lunch program and later as a custodian. Lorraine also worked as a health aid for the Sheridan County Social Services retiring in 2001. Lorraine loved gardening and flowers. Lorraine was a former member of the McClusky Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School Superintendent.
Lorraine is survived by her husband, Walter of McClusky; daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Bruce Sease of McClusky; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Laurel Kukert of McClusky. Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; son, Delmer Kukert.
