Lorraine Brye, 91 of Harvey, ND died Saturday April 16, 2016 at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home, Harvey.

Funeral services will be held at Trinity Bethany Lutheran Church, Harvey on Thursday April 21, 2016 at 1:00 p.m.

Visitation will be held at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey on Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Burial will be in the Bethania Lutheran Cemetery, rural Harvey.

Lorraine was born on November 17, 1924 in Harvey, ND. She was the daughter of Andrew and Olga ((Heie) Anderson. She grew up and attended rural school west of Harvey and graduated from Harvey High School in 1943. Lorraine then attended nursing school in Minot and graduated in 1946.

Lorraine married William Brye on July 14, 1946 at the Trinity Bethany Lutheran Church, Harvey. They lived and farmed south of Wellsburg for many years and they retired from farming in 1981. They continued living on their farm during their retirement years. William died June 23, 2005. She recently entered the St. Aloisius Nursing Home after spending many years at home with her daughter helping her maintain her independent living.

Lorraine was a member of the Trinity Bethany Lutheran Church of Harvey. She was very active in the ladies aid and participated in Bible Study sessions for many years at the church. She was a member of the Christian Woman's. Lorraine gave many rides to her friends to church, Dr. Appointments, and social functions.

Her hobbies included making bread, buns, gardening, caring for her farm animals, quilting, and sewing.

Lorraine is survived by her daughter, Ivy Brye, Harvey; two sons, Courtney (Elaine) Brye, Alberton, MT, Myron (Evelyn) Brye, St. James, MN; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; husband and a brother Quinten Anderson.

Lorraine passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2016 in Harvey. Blessed be the memory of Lorraine Brye.
