Lorraine Blumhagen, 86, Harvey, ND died on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 28 at Trinity Bethany Lutheran Church, Harvey, ND.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday May 27, 2013, at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey, ND.
Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Harvey, ND.
Lorraine was born on March 8, 1927 southwest of Drake, ND. She was the daughter of Gottlieb and Eva (Uhlich) Grosz. As a child her parents moved to a farm south of Drake near Skogmo. She grew up and attended rural school there. In 1943 the family moved to a farm three miles west of Anamoose. She helped on the family farm until she married Rudolph Blumhagen on April 30, 1965 in Fessenden, ND. They lived on a farm near Fessenden where he worked as a laborer. They moved to Harvey in October 1974. Lorraine worked for the St. Aloisius Hospital of Harvey as a dietary aide for over 17 years. Rudy died on December 14, 1983. Lorraine continued to live in Harvey. Lorraine was a member of Trinity Bethany Lutheran Church of Harvey and its ladies aid. She was baptized and confirmed at the St. Peter Lutheran Church south of Drake, ND. Lorraine is survived by two brothers, Clifford Grosz of Harvey and Raymond Grosz of Anamoose; one niece Brenda (Mike) Heitkamp, nephew Curtis (Julie) Grosz; five great nephews and nieces, Kayla, Tyler, Dylan, Danialla and Michael; aunts, Helen Rieniets of Drake and Esther Everson of Bismarck
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Rudy.
