Lorie Hanson, 53 Harvey, ND died Sunday, December 7, 2014 at the St. Alexius Hospital in Bismarck.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 10 at 2 p.m. at the Hertz Funeral Home in Harvey.

Visitation will be held at the Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey on Tuesday December 9, 2014 from 3 p.m.-7 p.m.

Burial will be in the spring in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Drake, ND.

Lorie was born on May 8, 1961 in Harvey, ND to Harold and Violet (Krosbakken) Hanson. She grew up and attended school in Drake and moved to Harvey in 1971. She attended the Harvey High School through her junior year.

Lorie started working at the Town and Country Restaurant in Harvey in 1978. She continued to work there as a cook for three different owners. She retired from JW's Restaurant, Bar and Grill for health reasons in 2013.

Lorie's hobbies were playing computer games, being on facebook, collecting frog sculptures and loved animals including her cat Dusty. She enjoyed her grandchildren and driving around town to see, "What was going on." Laurie loved telling jokes and was known for her humor.

Lorie was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Harvey.

Lorie is survived by her daughter, Samantha Hanson, Harvey; two grandchildren, Jaxson Hanson and Payshantz Hanson; two sisters, Carla Bromley of Harvey, Nancy Weltz of Bismarck.

Lorie was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Larry Hanson.

Lorie passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2014 at the St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck at the age of 53 years, 6 months and 29 days.
