Lois Rott, 81, of Anamoose died Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at her home following a short illness.

Funeral services will be held at the Martin Baptist Church, Martin, North Dakota, on Saturday, January 17, at 10:30 am.

Visitation will be held at the Hertz Funeral Home of Harvey on Friday, January 16, from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Martin Baptist Cemetery.

Lois was born on April 28, 1933, near Martin. She was the daughter of Martin and Hulda (Schieman) Fiesel. Lois grew up and attended school in Martin and graduated from Martin High School in 1951. After high school she worked at the JCPenney store in Harvey and taught at rural schools in the Martin area. Lois attended the Minot State Teachers College for two years. She then began teaching at the White Township School north of Martin. Lois married Harold Rott on June 20, 1961, in Martin. They farmed east of Anamoose where they raised their four children. Lois also worked as a teacher's aid at the Anamoose Public School for several years. Lois and Harold moved to Anamoose in 1997. Harold died on April 10, 2002. Lois returned to the Anamoose school in September of 2005 where she was a Foster Grandparent and was known as Grandma Lois. She enjoyed working and spending time with the children until her illness this past November.

Lois was a member of the Martin Baptist Church where she was a member of the women's group, a church pianist, Bible school teacher, Sunday School teacher and sang in the church choir. Lois enjoyed embroidering, reading, playing piano, playing games, raising flowers, spending time with her grandchildren and attending their various activities.

Lois is survived by her children, Bonnie (Brian) Lund of Horace, ND; Jim (Kimberlee) Rott of Anamoose; Michael (Marsha) Rott of Anamoose; Sue Gunderson of Powers Lake, ND; 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Elma Kleinsasser of Martin.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; brothers, Walter Fiesel, Bennie Fiesel, Reinhold Fiesel, Emil Fiesel; sisters, Minnie Karges, Emma Fuhrman, Martha Weinholz, Viola Fiesel, LaVerne Fiesel, Ellen Fiesel.
