Lillian M. Roufs-Volk, 92, Grand Forks, ND passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2017 in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks.

Lillian Roufs-Volk was born at home to Matt and Ida Roufs of Anamoose, ND. She graduated from Anamoose High School. She married Ralph J. Volk and bore two children Cheryl and James. She was divorced in 1955 and lived a single life. She was employed by the Soo Line Railroad for 9 years as a telegrapher. Later she worked as a waitress in Williston, ND. When she moved to Grand Forks, ND in 1956 she was employed by Thrifty White Drug as a checkout clerk, a pharmacy clerk and a cosmetologist. She also held a second job as a waitress at Whitey's Cafe, East Grand Forks, MN. Lillian enjoyed baking and collecting recipes.

She was proceeded in death by her parents Ida and Matt Roufs. Anamoose, ND and two brothers and two sisters Marie Roufs, Anamoose, ND; John Roufs, Anamoose, ND.; Loretta V. Omlid, Boise, Idaho; Clem Roufs, Grand Forks, ND; a Nephew James (Stephanie) Roufs of Grand Forks ND.; brother-in-law Emil T. Omlid, Boise, Idaho and sister-in-laws Elsie (Demester) Roufs, Grand Forks. ND and Jane Roufs.

She is survived by one brother Matthew Roufs, Dallas Oregon and 3 nieces Renee Roufs, Angie Norris, and Nancy Roufs of Dallas, Oregon. Four nieces and nephews living locally include Michael (Diane) Roufs, Grand Forks, ND; Cindy (Jeff) Barclay, Grand Forks, ND; Greg (Kris) Roufs, East Grand Forks, MN; DeLaine (Steve) Ristau, East Grand Forks, MN. She is also survived by her daughter Cheryl R. (Kenneth) Curfman, Bemidji, MN; son James D. Volk, Grand Forks, ND; grandsons David (Georgia) Curfman and Daniel (Terri) Curfman, Bemidji, MN. Mayme and Ralph J. Volk, Westminster, CO.

Mass Of Christian Burial was held January 19, 2017 in St. Michael's Catholic Church, Grand Forks, ND.

Interment will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 3, 2017 a St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery, Anamoose, ND. Local Arrangements with Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey, ND.
