Lillian Miiller 83 of Anamoose died Sunday July 17, 2011 at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home of Harvey. Funeral services will be held at the St. Martin Lutheran Church of Anamoose on Wednesday July 20, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be held at the Hertz Funeral Home of Harvey on Tuesday July 19, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Burial will be held at the St. Martin Lutheran Cemetery of Anamoose.
Lillian was born on March 29, 1928 in Bismarck, ND. She was the daughter of Frank and Irene (Kern) Bayer. Until the age of seven her family lived in different cities due to her father being an elevator manager. They moved to Harvey where they lived until she was seventeen. They then moved to Tacoma, Washington. On December 20, 1945 she married August Miiller Jr. in Tacoma, WA. The couple came back to North Dakota to make their home on the family farm south of Anamoose. August "Rusty" passed away on December 12, 1996. Lillian was a member of the St. Martin Lutheran Church of Anamoose, and a life member of the Oswald Post #6831 VFW Auxiliary of Anamoose. She was an active member and past vice president of the Anamoose Senior Citizen's. Lillian taught vacation bible school for many years and a 4H leader in Sheridan County. Lillian worked for HAV-IT Industries of Harvey for 10 years. When she retired, she resided on the family farm south of Anamoose. On May 4, 2010 she entered the St. Aloisius Nursing Home of Harvey. Lillian is survived by her daughters, Leela Sprenger of Anamoose, Julie (Fred) Ponzer of Menoken; four sons, Lloyd (Diann) Miiller of Hazen, Arlen Miiller of Max, Leon (Hilda) Miiller of Borup, MN, Bob Miiller of Wilton; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; husband, August; son, Jerel Miiller; brothers, Frank Bayer, Cleon Bayer, Charles Bayer, Donald Bayer; granddaughter, Renee Phillips.
