Lillian M. Magee, 94 of Harvey, ND died Monday, February 27, 2017 at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home in Harvey.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 6 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Harvey, ND.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 5 at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey, ND.

Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery in the spring.

Lillian was born on June 18, 1922 at Harvey, ND. She was the daughter of Daniel and Lydia (Opp) Kroll. She grew up on the family farm and graduated from the Harvey High School in 1940. Wanting to leave North Dakota, she boarded a bus and traveled to Berkley, CA. She worked in the shipyards during the World War II era. She was once married to Patrick Crichton. They owned and operated the Crichton Restaurant where she served as a hostess and co-owner. Their restaurant was located in Carmel, CA and was patronized by many celebrities of the day, including Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra and Clint Eastwood. Lillian then married John Magee on April 28, 1976 in Winter Haven, CA. They lived in California, Nevada and Montana. They moved to Harvey in 2002. John died on November 22, 2006.

Lillian was fortunate to enjoy a lifestyle that included experiencing meeting famous individuals; attending many special events and traveling to interesting places. She became a gourmet cook and enjoyed gardening. She loved to read and kept up on current events. She and John volunteered their time and made donations to numerous charitable organizations.

Lillian was a member of the St. Cecilia Catholic Church.

Lillian is survived by her two stepsons, Kevin Magee and Lance Magee; several nieces and nephews.

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; sisters, Ida Hofland, Virginia Helgerud, Alma Tessmann; brothers, Willard Kroll and Alvin Kroll.
