Obituary

Leroy Wacker 79 of Anamoose was called by God to his heavenly home from his rural home near Anamoose on Tuesday November 10, 2015 due to heart failure.

Funeral services will be held at the St. Martin Lutheran Church of Anamoose on Saturday November 14, 2015 at 2:00 p.m.

Visitation will be held at the Hertz Funeral Home of Harvey on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Burial will be held at the St. Martin Lutheran Cemetery of Anamoose.

Leroy and his twin brother were born on October 20, 1936 near Anamoose. His twin brother did not survive. Leroy was the son of Otto and Selma (Flatlie) Wacker. He attended rural school near Anamoose until the eighth grade. He then helped his dad with farming. In his early 20's he enlisted in the Army and was trained as a paratrooper at Fort Brag, North Carolina. When his dad became ill, he was called home by the Red Cross. He then became an active member of the National Guard and served many years. In 1962 he married Gloria Rademacher. To this union two sons were born, Randall and Craig. Their mother died in 1967. At the age of 4 and 6 Leroy raised his sons with the help of his mother.

His main interest was farming and included years of milking cows. He enjoyed being in God's creation and living on the family farm. Leroy was a member of the St. Martin Lutheran Church of Anamoose, ND.

Leroy is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Randy (Dawn) Wacker of Andover, MN, Craig (Mary) Wacker of Mapleton, ND; grandsons, Chad of Lacrosse, Wisconsin, Derek of Hawley, MN, Kyle, who is serving in the US Navy at Norfolk, VA, and Michael of Kindred, ND; sister, Darlene Sloboden of Turtle Lake, ND, niece, Tammie (Ron) Stotz; Bismarck; great nephews, Mason and Ethan Stotz of Bismarck; aunt, Arlene Flatlie of Valley City; cousins; and Leroy's faithful companion his dog.

Leroy was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gloria; step-father, Clarence Swanson; brother, Dale; brother-in-law, Lawrence Sloboden; grandparents; aunts; uncles; and cousins.
