LeRoy Lauer, age 95, of McClusky, ND, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Touchmark on West Century in Bismarck, ND. In accordance with LeRoy's wishes, no funeral service will be held and a graveside service will be held at a later date.

LeRoy was born on November 4, 1930, to Fred Jr. and Katie (Neff) Lauer at their home north of Pickardville, ND. He was raised on the family farm south of McClusky and attended school in McClusky.  LeRoy developed a strong work ethic and lifelong connection to the land and community he loved.

In December of 1951, LeRoy was inducted into the United States Marine Corps and proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged as a corporal in December 1953.  On October 10, 1954, LeRoy married the love of his life, Alice Herr in McClusky. Together, they took over the family farm.  They worked side by side and built a life rooted in dedication, perseverance, and family. They continued to live on the farm after retiring, residing there until February of 2025.

LeRoy is survived by his wife, Alice; his daughter, Vicki Lauer of Grand Junction, Colorado; his sons, Lyle (Lisa) Lauer of Grand Junction, Colorado and Mark Lauer of Beulah, ND; his sister, Shirley Wilson of Coleharbor, ND; six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, two sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.  He was preceded in death by his parents, seven sisters, six brothers and his daughter-in-law, Mary Lauer.

LeRoy will be remembered for his quiet strength, devotion to his family, pride in his service, and lifelong commitment to farming and rural life. His legacy lives on through generations he helped shape and the many lives he touched.
