Leo Goldade 72 of Harvey died Tuesday August 31 at the St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck. Services will be held Saturday, September 4, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Harvey. Interment will be in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery, Esmond, ND. Friends may sign the register book at Hertz Funeral Home on Friday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Leo was born October 7, 1937 at Harvey, ND. He was the son of Anton and Alice (Bertsch) Goldade. He grew up on the family farm northeast of Harvey and attended school in Harvey. As a young man he began farming. He married Isabella M. Schumacker on May 6, 1959 in Rugby. They lived on a farm near Harvey before moving into town in 1972. Leo was a custodian at the Harvey Public School for many years and retired from there in 1998. He continued raising cattle all through his retirement. Leo loved spending time with his family. His hobbies were farming, ranching, gardening and working on old tractors. He will be remembered for his big smile and practical jokes.

Leo was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Harvey.

Leo is survived by his wife, Isabella of Harvey; three sons, Richard, Devils Lake, Kevin (Jill) of Harvey, Mark of Fargo; two daughters, Marilyn (Greg)Wolfe, Esmond; Lisa (Brian) Johnson, Mandan; four grandchildren, Tyler Wolfe, Justin Goldade, Mitch Gordon and Sheena Johnson; three great-grandchildren, Emersyn, Kamryn and Kyson; brother, Joe (Esther) Goldade, Harvey, six sisters, Lena Eckman, Helen Goldade and Irene Marquart all of Harvey, Angie Oster of Carrington, Jean Hoffart and Regina McNally both of Fargo. Leo was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ferdinand, Frank, Sebastian, Leonard and Conrad; sister, Mary Goldade; grandson, Derick Wolfe.
