Obituary

Leah Sprenger, 89 of rural Denhoff died Sunday, October 8 in the Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center in Bismarck.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at the Grace Lutheran Church, McClusky, ND.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial will be in the McClusky City Cemetery.

Leah was born on March 25, 1928 near Denhoff, ND. She was the daughter of John and Magdalena (Feil) Sprenger. Leah grew up and attended school at the New German Township #2 in Sheridan County near Lincoln Valley. She lived on the family farm with her parents and then her brothers, Emil and Herbert, as they continued the farming operation.  They continued to live together on the farm until after Herbert's death in 2015.  Both her and Emil moved to Bismarck and she was currently residing at the Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center.

Leah enjoyed driving with Herb and Emil to participate in whatever was planned for the day.  Activities ranged from shopping and dining in Harvey and other area towns to visits to the local casinos.  Her hobbies were sewing, quilting and gardening.

Leah was a former member Kassel Reformed Church of Lincoln Valley.  She was a current member of the Grace Lutheran Church of McClusky.  She was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary in Harvey and the AmVets Auxiliary in Bismarck.

Leah is survived by her brother, Emil Sprenger of Bismarck; numerous nieces and nephews.   Leah was preceded in death by her sisters, Helena Hornbacher, Olinda Schuh, Freda LaPerna, Anna Cox, Lydia Lummus and Bertha Wing; five brothers, John, Henry, Adolph, Reinhold, Martin and Herbert Sprenger.
