Obituary

L. Marvin Graumann, 87, Harvey, ND died Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at New Life on Main Church, Harvey, ND.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey.

Burial will be in the Sunnyside Cemetery, Harvey, ND.

Leroy Marvin Graumann was born on February 26, 1928 on the family farm southeast of Harvey. He was the son Ferdinand J. and Lydia (Seibel) Graumann. He accepted Christ as his Savior at the age of 14 at the Country Mennonite Brethren Church and was baptized at Coal Mine Lake. Marvin started farming with his father and purchased his first tractor at age 17. Marvin married Agnes Henne on September 12, 1948 in Harvey. They lived and farmed near Harvey. In 1961 they began building their farm on the west edge of Harvey. They owned and operated a dairy and farming operation. They moved into Harvey in 1979. Agnes died on June 12, 1986. He continued helping out where needed on the farm. Marvin married Isolde Ekk on September 30, 1989 in Reedley, CA. They resided in Harvey.

Marvin enjoyed woodworking. He helped remodel his home and helped his children on their home improvement projects.

Marvin served on the Harvey Senior Citizens Board and delivered Meals on Wheels for 18 years.

Marvin was a member of New Life On Main Church.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Isolde of 26 years of Harvey; four sons, Terry (Jane) Graumann of Fergus Falls, MN, Joel (Lorretta) Graumann of Fountain Hills, AZ, Paul (Patti) Graumann of Sioux Falls, SD, Tim (Brenda) Graumann of Omaha, NE; three daughters, Linda (Craig) Schmidt of Eagan, MN, Sharon (Doug) Heitmann of Harvey, Joni (Tracy) Holz of Anna, TX; 19 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; brother, Don (Marion) Graumann of Hillsboro, KS; sister, CaroLee Derksen, Wichita, KS.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Agnes; brothers, Robert, Garfield, F. Glenn and Roger; sisters, Luella Frueh and Rosella Kessler; infant sister Viola.

Marvin will be remembered for being a loving husband, father and grandfather who prayed daily for his wife, children and grandchildren.
