Obituary

Kristene "Kristy" Baier 68 of rural Harvey died Tuesday May 1, 2012 at her home after a short battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be on Saturday May 5 at 2:30 p.m. at the Faith Lutheran Church which meets at the Seventh-day Adventist Church of Harvey.

Visitation will be held at the Hertz Funeral Home of Harvey on Friday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Burial will be in the Country Mennonite Brethren Cemetery rural Harvey.

Kristene was born March 31, 1944 in Harvey, ND to Leonard and Martha (Buchwitz) Knutson. She attended country school in Crystal Lake Township and one year of high school in Harvey. Kristy married Lloyd Baier on April 11, 1967 in Fessenden. She was a bartender and cook at various businesses in Harvey for 36 years and a member of the Hillside Home Makers Club for 25 years. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, four wheeling, helping with the cattle and reading.

Kristy leaves behind her husband, Lloyd of Harvey; daughter, Dee Dee (Monte) Knudtson of Harvey; step-son, Brian Baier of Harvey; step-daughter, Cindy (Bob) Martin of Martin; granddaughter, Bridget Knudtson of Fargo; step granddaughter Misty (Chad) Wrightson of Ft. Pierre, SD; step grandson Dustin Sherlock of Jamestown; step great-grandchildren, Caden and Conner Sherlock of Jamestown; sisters, Rosene (Bill) Faul of Hurdsfield, Linda Schwarz of Jamestown; brother, Gerald (Twila) Knutson of Filer, Idaho; sisters-in-law Alice Faul of Harvey and Carol (Mike) Salerno of Peoria, AZ; along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Kristy was preceded in death by her father Leonard; mother Martha; brothers Leroy, Elroy, Jim; brother-in-law Michael Schwarz and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Floyd and Karen Baier.

Kristy requested that instead of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Harvey Public Library or the charity of your choice.
