Kenneth A. Sorenson, 67, Harvey, ND died Friday, July 8, 2022 at a Minot Hospital.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 15 at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey, ND.
Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery, Harvey, ND.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey, ND.
Kenneth Alan Sorenson was born on July 26, 1954 in Harvey, ND. He was the son of Clifford and Violet (Hieb) Sorenson. He grew up in Harvey and graduated from the Harvey High School in 1972. He lived in Harvey where he worked at the following Harvey businesses: Roble's Chevrolet, Harvey Tire Service, with his father at Sorenson and Sons Garage, managed Mann's Automotive for 10 years and was a parts man at Lelm Implement and Gooseneck Implement.
Kenneth married Wanda Keson on November 26, 1982 in Bismarck. They lived in Harvey until moving to the Keson family farm south of Harvey in 2003.
Ken and Wanda, along with some friends started the drag races at the Harvey airport and was recognized as the "Aero Drag Racing Home of North Dakota's First Ever E. T. Drag Racing Event." They held races at the airport, two times a year, for 10 years with racers from ND, SD, MN, Idaho, Montana and Canada.
Ken's interests in rebuilding engines and transmission resulted in him becoming a car and motorcycle enthusiast. He enjoyed his Corvettes and motorcycles. He built a Harley Davidson trike for Wanda. He was referred by many as the "Parts Guru" for his extensive knowledge of all automotive components. Ken and Wanda also enjoyed deer hunting together. Ken was a perfectionist when it came to the appearance of his vehicles, buildings and yards. He enjoyed all the grass cutting and doing maintenance on the buildings and cars they owned. Ken was also a member of the Harvey City Fire Department.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Wanda of Harvey; sister, Linda (Tim) Nelson of White Rock, New Mexico; brother, Ralph; niece and nephews; cousins and a host of friends.
Ken was preceded in death by his father Clifford and his stepmom Ruth; mother, Violet and step dad Buster Marquardt; best friends, Duane Bender and Brad Patzer.
