Kenneth Konschak, 73, Goodrich, ND passed away on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at the Sanford Hospital in Bismarck.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 14, 2021 at Peace Lutheran Church, Goodrich with burial at 2 p.m. Friday at the Sunset Memorial Gardens in Bismarck.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey, ND.

Kenneth "Butch" Derrwood Konschak was born on February 7, 1948 in Harvey, ND to Edmund and Adeline (Hanson) Konschak.  Butch attended Goodrich Public School graduating in May 1966.  Butch joined the US Army in 1966 and served proudly until 1969 and was a Vietnam War veteran.

After receiving his honorable discharge from the Army he returned to Goodrich and began his farming career and continued until 2002.  He worked construction in 1997 and 1998 and took part in the construction of the Hawk Tree Golf Course in Bismarck from 1998 until May 2004.  In June 2004 he began working for Sheridan County as the blade operator, retiring in August 2010.  Since retiring he worked in his yard and loved to help his family wherever he could.  Butch's biggest joys were the times he spent with his family.  His heartfelt laugh was evident of that. He was passionate about playing softball for 36 years from 1970 to 2006.  He was inducted into the North Dakota Softball Hall of Fame in 2000.  He was a lifelong Yankee fan and when visiting you would be welcomed into "Yankee Haven."

Butch loved his Goodrich community.  He was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church.  He served on numerous organizations in the area including the Goodrich Fire Department, Lions Club, School Board, City Council and was a member of the Albert Block Post 56 for 52 years.

He was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans and Eagles Aerie in Harvey.

Butch is survived by his wife of 47 years, Marjory (Schafer Martel) whom he married on February 20, 1974.  Together they raised four children, Kimberly (Blaine) Bruner of Drake; Cynthia (Philip) Hauger of Prior Lake, MN, Gustin (Bridget) Martel of Big Fork, MT; Jason Konschak of Fargo; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and two more soon; many nieces and nephews; siblings; Colette Ternes, Dennis (Karen) Konschak, Blair (Kitt) Konschak, Baylen (Sheri), Konschak and Caroline (Lynn) Johnston.

Butch is reunited in Heaven with his parents, Edmund and Adeline; brother Gerald; sister, Bonnie.
