Kenneth Duane Faul was born on October 13, 1943 in Harvey, ND to David and Louise (Bader) Faul. He grew up on the family farm south of Harvey and attended country school in Crystal Lake Township. He worked with an area farmer before joining the Army in December 1960. He served for a time in Germany before being honorably discharged in December 1964. He began working as a carpenter building grain elevators in ND, MN and MT. Ken married Karen Ann Usselman on November 17, 1967 in Sydney, MT. They lived in several towns and Wahpeton where Ken was building elevators. They then moved to Hatton where he worked for an area farmer and had a contract for trimming trees for Bell Telephone. In 1977, they moved to Harvey where he worked at Faul Manufacturing for a couple years. In 1979, Ken started employment with Border States Paving where he held multiple positions and was a plant operator for over half of his career when he retired in 1999. Ken's retirement years were spent fishing, gardening, and hunting. He enjoyed playing cards with his group of friends at Little Mart and the Eagles Club. He enjoyed his retirement to the fullest and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He never had to be in a hurry as he could always do it tomorrow.
