Kelly W. Schimke, 44, of Hurdsfield, ND died Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at the Sanford Medical Center in Bismarck.

Funeral services will be held at the Faith Lutheran Church of Harvey on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 10:30 a.m.

Visitation will be held at the Hertz Funeral Home of Harvey on Friday January 31, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with prayer services at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Kelly was born on October 15, 1975 in Harvey, North Dakota.  He was the son of Wayne and Diane (Eckman) Schimke.  He grew up and attended school in Harvey. Following his schooling, he worked with his dad, brother, and his children on the family farm. While farming/ranching  he also worked for Harvey Farmers Elevator, Farmers Union Insurance, and did custom harvesting for local farmers. Kelly always enjoyed spending time with his family wether it was working or just hanging out. In fact he was the happiest when everyone was just "staying in for the night". Kelly married Melissa Schneider on May 28, 1994 in Esmond, ND.  They continued to live on the family farm south of Harvey. He was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church of Harvey.

Kelly is survived by his wife, Melissa of Hurdsfield, children, Tyler (Megan Reis), Tristin, Trace, and Trynity Schimke; mother, Diane Schimke of Hurdsfield; sister, Kristi (Rich) Buckley of West Fargo; brother, Kerry (Sarah) of Harvey; numerous nieces and nephews; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ron and Karen Schneider of Fargo.

Kelly was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Schimke; and his grandparents.
