Katherine Schall 88 of Harvey, ND  left this earthly home on Tuesday, May 27 , 2014 to be with her heavenly father.

Her final farewell will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 2, 2014 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Harvey, ND.


Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. with Rosary Prayer services at 7 p.m. on Sunday at the St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Harvey.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Katherine was born June 26, 1925 near Wellsburg, the 13th child of Alois and Rosa (Martel) Dosch. Katherine attended the North Fork Rural School to the 8th grade. She moved into Harvey with her parents in 1943. She worked at the Cooke Hotel for four years.

Having met the love of her life, she and Peter Schall were married on October 10, 1949 in Harvey. She began her homemaker career and was blessed with seven children. Their son, Timothy Peter was lost to crib death on June 14, 1960. When her youngest child entered kindergarten she began working at the Harvey Eagles Club for the next 15 years, cooking for supper nights and cleaning.

Katherine was an excellent cook, baker and canner. Katherine and Peter were well known for their garden and flowers. Many people reaped the benefits of the produce and canning. She was never one to sit idle. She and Peter were fortunate to travel over the years, Hawaii and Vegas being two of her favorites. They attended many conventions representing the Eagles and The Knights of Columbus. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary.

Katherine had an unwavering faith in God. She was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church. Over the years she was involved in St. Cecilia Altar Society, Catholic Daughters and Catholic Order of Forester's. She loved to play BINGO and making yarn hangers to give to family, friends and the staff at the nursing home.

We will miss her with all our hearts and will always cherish the times we spent together! She was always there when we needed her and was the most loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was selfless and always put others ahead of herself. She never wanted people to go out of their way for her. Yet, she did it all the time for others. Even though she is gone, her memory will live on in all of our hearts forever. It is not,"Goodbye," but, "Until we meet again." Have faith that she will be watching over us.

Her niece Rita Weninger, lovingly cared for her as a second mother. The family expresses their gratitude to Rita and everyone else that cared for Katherine at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home.

Katherine is survived by her husband, Peter of 64 years; six children, Renee (Roy) Kringstad, Drayton, ND; James (Judy) Schall, Woodbury, MN; Ronald Schall, Stockton, CA; Joann (David) Seltvedt, Harvey; Kathleen (Albert) Wentz, Bismarck; Annette (Kevin) Kraft, Beulah; 19 grandchildren, 14 great–grandchildren; four sisters, Annie Neis of Harvey, Barbara Jundt of Rugby, Julia Ludwig of Harvey and Lena Jaeger of Devils Lake; brother, Alois (Irene) Dosch of Auburn, WA and numerous nieces and nephews.

Katherine was preceded in death by her parents; infant son; brothers, Donald Dosch, Joe Dosch, Sebastian Dosch; sisters, Frances Hager, Rose Axtman, Theresa Welk and Mary Heilman.
