Karen Faul, 72 of Harvey, ND died on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at the Griggs County Care Center in Cooperstown.  Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Cornerstone Community Church South Campus.  Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. followed by a prayer service at 6 p.m. at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey, ND.  Burial will be in the Country Mennonite Brethren Cemetery, rural Harvey, ND.

Karen was born on March 30, 1949 in Fairview, MT to Joseph and Louise (Genther) Usselman.  She grew up in Fairview and graduated from high school in 1967.  That summer, Karen met the love of her life, Kenneth Faul and they were married on November 17, 1967 in Sydney, MT.  Karen and Ken lived in several ND communities including Wahpeton and Hatton before moving to Harvey in 1977.  She was employed by St. Aloisius Medical Center in the Dietary Department, the Harvey Bakery and Dakota Seasonings.  She worked as a flagger for Border States Paving.  Karen also cooked at Spectators Bar and Grill and the Eagles Club in Harvey. In 2021 she and Ken moved to the Griggs County Care Center in Cooperstown where she enjoyed playing cards and taking part in the activities provided.  Ken died on July 2, 2021.

Karen attended the Cornerstone Community Church in Harvey. She had the most beautiful floral and produce gardens at their home in Harvey. She was asked often about gardening issues and shared her knowledge with friends and family.

Karen is survived by two sons; Joe and Ruth of Harvey, David of Hillsboro, ND; five grandchildren, Kenny (Kailey) Faul, Kyle Faul, Kiysa Faul, Bekah (Brenden) Klebe, and Derek Faul; two sisters, Linda (Vance) Vickers of Glendive, MT, and LuAnn (Rick) Sharbano of Fairview, MT; brother, Kenneth (Martha) Usselman of Laurel, MT; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Karen was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ken, and a grandson, Kole Faul.
