Joyce Demchuk, 80 of Mandan died Thursday July 5, 2018 at the Missouri Slope Lutheran Care of Bismarck.

Funeral services will be held at the St. John's Lutheran Church of McClusky on Thursday July 12 at 2:00 p.m.

Visitation will be held at the St. John's Lutheran Church of McClusky on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Burial will be in the McClusky City Cemetery, McClusky, ND

Joyce was born on May 6, 1938 in Denhoff, ND.  She was the daughter of Gust and Lydia (Roemmich) Meckle. Joyce grew up and attended school near Denhoff.  Joyce moved to Bismarck and worked at the Patterson Hotel.

Joyce married Arnie Demchuk on August 23 1959 in McClusky.  They lived in the Kief and McClusky area where they farmed and ranched.  They moved to Mercer in 1996.  Arnie died on October 18, 1999.  Joyce moved to McClusky for a time then to Mandan in 2012.

Joyce was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church of McClusky.

Joyce enjoyed helping on the farm and babysitting.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Laurie Leno of Bismarck; four grandchildren, Calvin Kurtz, Casey Kurtz, Neal Kurtz and his fiance Kate Haas, Jaclyn Torgerson; great-grandsons, Paxton Moos and Blake Kurtz; brothers and sisters: Gertrude Helm, Bismarck, Emma Siems, Bismarck, Luella Coulter, Chanhassen, MN, Rodney Meckle, Center, ND, Grace Gaylord, Apple Valley, MN, Gloria McCurdy, Coeur D Alene, ID, Orlan Meckle, Coeur D Alene, ID, Calvin Meckle, Soulsbyville, CA. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; Gust and Lydia husband, Arnie; son, Loren Demchuk; and her brothers, Gus Jr. and Willis; her sisters, Selma (Sally) Zeller, and Clara Weidrich.
