Joshua Jans, 24, Denhoff, ND died Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at the Trinity Hospital in Minot.  Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, October 5, 2020 at the First Lutheran Church, Harvey, ND.

Joshua Gerald Jans was born on November 6, 1995 in Harvey to Jerry and Belinda (Ding) Jans.  He grew up on the family farm south of Anamoose.  He attended school in Anamoose and Drake.  He worked for area farmers and most recently at the bison processing plant in New Rockford.  Hunting, fishing and trucking with his dad were activities that he continued to enjoy as time permitted. He loved "puddle jumpin" for ducks with his dad and the family dogs.  The excitement of the deer season coincided with his birthday. He loved calling for coyotes and helping his mom skin the critters in the summer kitchen.  When Josh was a baby, his dad and mom would take him trucking across the country traveling to the 48 lower states. Josh would talk about how he would become a truck driver someday.  He would help make hay and spend time with the horses and chickens.  Josh would try to ride but would more often than not end up under the horse than on it!  He discovered riding snowmobiles and 4 wheelers was safer (sort of).  He loved to participate in demolition derbies. This past summer he placed 2 ^nd in the Rugby Derby.  As a teenager Josh and his dad spent many hours working on cars.  He was soft hearted and would try to keep the peace rather than there be a conflict.  He will be missed by those that truly knew his heart.

Josh is survived by his mother, Belinda Jans of Harvey; sister, Leah Jans of Harvey; grandmother, Leona Jans of Harvey; grandfather, Louie Ding, Jr. of Bismarck; aunts, uncles and cousins.

Josh was preceded in death by his father, Jerry; grandfather Theodore Jans and grandmother Sandra Ding.  Arrangements with Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey, ND.
