John L. Weinmann died at Symphony of Mesa Rehab Facility in Mesa AZ, on December 18 2015, while recovering from surgery for esophageal cancer.
Funeral Services will be held at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Harvey on January 4th, 2016 at 10:30am.
Burial will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan, ND at a later date.

John L. Weinmann was born in Harvey, ND to Herman "Bus" and Cora (Arneson) Weinmann on September 13, 1943. He attended Manfred Rural School and graduated from Harvey High School in 1961. He enlisted in the Army in April of 1962 and was stationed at Fort Bliss in El Paso, TX. He was discharged from the Army in January of 1964 and moved to Seattle, where he met Carol. In October of 1967 they moved to Harvey where he worked with his Dad and became co-owner of the Coast to Coast store in downtown Harvey. He married Carol Wallace on December 31, 1968. In 1972, he became a Carman with Soo-Line/Canadian Pacific Railroad until his retirement in September of 2003. John and Carol sold their house in Harvey and moved to Mesa, Arizona in 2013. They would travel back to North Dakota during the summer months but John always wanted to leave before the first snowflake fell.
John enjoyed life, he liked to play cards especially pinochle, he was an avid bowler on the men's league for over 20 years. He was a member of the Eagles Club, VFW, American Legion, and Color Guard. He liked to camp, fish, and hunt with family. In the later years, you could find John watching his favorite western movies and reading western books. He always had a ready smile and so enjoyed whenever someone would stop by for a visit. While in Arizona they surrounded themselves with a large group of friends that have become more like family.
John will be deeply missed by his wife, Carol; Daughter, Tawnia (Glen) Heilman, Harvey; son, Jay and special Friend Becky, Mandan; three grandchildren, Dustin Heilman, West Fargo, Kate Heilman, Harvey and Skylor Jerome, Dilworth, MN, brother, Roger Weinmann of Lolo, MT.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Cora, Half Brothers, Fraine (Whitey) and Curt Lundberg; two Sister-in-laws, Ann Lundberg and Sandy Weinmann and his in-laws Robert and Olga Wallace.
