Obituary

John F. Keller, 101, of Harvey, ND died Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home, Harvey.

Funeral services will be held at the St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Harvey on Monday, March 23, at 10:30 a.m.

Visitation will be Sunday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the church with the Rosary Prayer Service at 7 p.m. at the church.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

John was born on March 5, 1914 at Karlsruhe, ND. He was the son of Joseph and Rosina (Lesmeister) Keller. The family moved to a farm south of Wellsburg when John was four years old. He grew up there and attended school. He began farming with his father.

John married Margaret Zacher on October 31, 1939 at Selz, ND. They purchased a farm west of Esmond, ND. He farmed until retiring in 1991. However, he continued to stay involved operating equipment for several years after retirement. Margaret died on April 28, 2003. He continued to live on the farm until moving to Harvey in 2006. He entered the St. Aloisius Nursing Home in 2012.

John was member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church and the Wells Eagles Aerie in Harvey.

John's hobbies included fishing, dancing and playing pinochle. He continued canning vegetables and soups even after his wife's passing.

John is survived by three daughters, Eileen (Lloyd) Domier of Fargo, Donna (Donald) Welk of Fargo, Sheila (Leonard) Pedersen of Velva; three sons, Dwight (Elsie) Keller of Mapleton, ND, James Keller of Fargo, Kelly Keller of Devils Lake; 28 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; 25 great-great-grandchildren; 6 step great-grandchildren; 4 step great-great-grandchildren; sister, Julia Bilke of Carrington; daughter-in-law, Helen Keller of Bismarck; sister-in-law Lillian Keller of Minot, ND; numerous nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son Duane; daughter, Judy Goldade; grandsons, Chad Goldade and Brian Keller; five brothers, Adam, Wendelin, Frank, Joe and Casper; four sisters, Catherina Richter, Ann Goldade, Lena Grossman, Rose Schmitz; great-granddaughter, Jan Marie Meyer and great-great-grandson, Carson Reid.
