Joe P. Keller, 90, Harvey, ND died Friday, October 6, 2017 at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home, Harvey, ND.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 10, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Harvey.

Visitation will be on Monday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a rosary prayer service at 7 p.m. at the Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey, ND.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Joe Philip Keller was born on December 10, 1926 near Selz, ND.  He was the son of Phillip and Margaret (Voeller) Keller.  He grew up there and attended school. As a young man he worked with his father.  On February 19, 1951 he entered the army and served in Korea where he was awarded the Korea service medal with two Bronze Camp Stars.  He was a truck driver and drove supplies.  Joe was honorably discharged on November 17, 1952.  He married Lena Bohl on October 19, 1953 at Fulda, North Dakota.  They lived and farmed north of Selz.

Joe was a member of the St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Catholic Order of Foresters, Wells Eagles Aerie #3080, VFW and American Legion all of Harvey.  Joe served on the VFW and American Legion Honor Guard for many years. He served on the Hagel Township Board and the Harvey Rural Fire Department; Joe enjoyed attending his grandchildren's school activities; hunting and fishing.

Joe is survived by his wife, Lena of Harvey; son, Glen (Michele) Keller of Harvey; three grandchildren, Tyler Keller, Tanner and his fiancé Rachel Frelich, Bethany Keller; brother, Cornelius Keller of Harvey; sister, Lena Fettig of Harvey

Joe was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Katie Schneider, Elizabeth Heisler, and Rose Voeller, brother, Pius Keller.
