Jerone Sauter, 78 of Goodrich, ND died Sunday June 20, 2021, at the St. Aloisius Hospital of Harvey.

Funeral services will be held at the Peace Lutheran Church of Goodrich on Friday June 25, 2021, at 2:00 p.m.

Visitation will be held at the Hertz Funeral Home of Harvey on Thursday June 24, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

Burial will be in the Goodrich City Cemetery of Goodrich.

Jerone was born on February 13, 1943, in Harvey.  He was the son of Walter and Irene (Brakel) Sauter.  As a child he grew up and attended school in Boone Township north of Goodrich.  Jerone live and farmed on his grandfather's Sauter farmstead in Boone Township his entire life.  Jerone was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church of Goodrich where his served on the church council.  He also served on the Sheridan County Weed Board, Boone Township, and Goodrich Farmers Elevator board.  He was inducted in the North Dakota National Guard in September of 1967 and served for nine years.  He was member of the Albert Block Post #56 for fifty-four years where he served on the post color guard.

Jerone is survived by his brother, Thomas (Donna) Sauter of Goodrich; sister, Dorothy (Jim) Meckle of Denhoff; nephews, Bill Meckle, Bob (April) Meckle, Brent (Carrie) Meckle, Steve Sauter; and 5 great-nieces and nephews; Jerone was preceded in death by his parents.
