Jeffrey Martin Heitzmann, 46, Mandan, formerly of Harvey died Thursday, March 25 from injuries sustained in a train derailment near Washburn. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church in Harvey. Visitation will be Monday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey, ND with burial later in the spring at Sunnyside Cemetery, Harvey, ND.
Jeffrey Martin Heitzmann was born February 28, 1964 at Harvey, ND. He was the son of Theodore and Marion (Lang) Heitzmann. He grew up and attended school in Harvey and he received his GED there. He was once married to Roberta Marchand, Kim Logue and Kris Peterson. Jeff lived in the Harvey, Fargo, West Fargo and Bismarck-Mandan areas. While in Bismarck he worked for Roughrider Hardwoods and was a carpenter building custom built staircases. He was also a custom cabinet maker. Most recently he has been living in Mandan with his girlfriend, Brandi Doll and their son Jayden Heitzmann, age 2. He was currently employed as a conductor with the Dakota Missouri Valley and Western railroad based out of Bismarck. Jeff's hobbies included riding his Harley and woodworking. He also enjoyed hunting pheasants and fall was his favorite season. He loved to ride his Harley during the fall experiencing all the colors nature offered. He realized his dream last summer when he was able to attend the Sturgis Rally. He was very proud of his children. Jeff is survived by his companion Brandi Doll and son, Jayden Heitzmann of Mandan; sons, Michael Boser of Harwood, ND, Brendin Heitzmann and Casey Heitzmann both of Hudson, Wisconsin; daughter, CyAirra Heitzmann of West Fargo; parents, Theodore and Marion Heitzmann of Harvey, ND; sister, Sandra, Mrs. James Weinmann, Sr. of Harvey; brother, Marshall Heitzmann of Valley City, ND.
