Jeannette Beverly Arnold left us unexpectedly on the morning of October 16, 2020. She was born May 17, 1944 in Maddock, ND. She was the daughter of John and Magdalena (Wentz) Marthe. Jeannette grew up and attended school in Esmond and graduated from Esmond High School. She then attended college in Fargo at a business school. She married her high school sweetheart and love of her life Raymond Arnold in October of 1965 who preceded her in death in 2000.
Jeannette was constantly on the go, traveling where and when ever possible. She never missed a sporting event or activity her grandchildren participated in. If there was any type of funeral, graduation, wedding, or anniversary going on you could be sure to find her there. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys and NDSU Bison Football fan. She even attended the 1992 Superbowl to watch the Cowboys. We often teased her that she should be a politician because anywhere she went she was sure to run into someone she knew even in the Los Angeles Airport.
Jeannette was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, cook, bowler, and most importantly a friend who was always there. One of her greatest accomplishments after years of hard work and perseverance was bringing the Vietnam moving wall to Esmond ND in 2001. At that time it was the smallest community that the wall ever visited. She was very proud to have done this in honor of her brother Randy Marthe who was killed in Vietnam.
Jeannette is survived by her daughter, Michell Arnold, grandchildren, Kendra and Gerald Mackey; daughter, Nola Arnold, grandchildren, Alexa (Andrea) Rensberger, Dawson Braaten; son, Craig (Nicole) Arnold, grandchildren, Connor Glasner, Skyler Arnold, and Cooper Arnold; sisters, Adeline (Jerry) Busch, Theresa (Jim) Wilmeth, and Rita Wentz; brothers, Dale (Karen) and Pat Marthe.
Jeannette was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond; mother and father-in-law, Leonard Doris Arnold; sister, Lorraine Hartman; brothers, Randy, Johnny, Wesley, Dennis Marthe; brothers-in-law, Dennis Arnold and Louis Arnold. Jeannette is loved by many and the absence of her will have a big impact on all of us.
