Jeanette Bonnet, 74 of McClusky, ND died on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at the Sanford Hospital in Bismarck.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at St. John's Lutheran Church in McClusky. Visitation will be Monday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Hertz Funeral Home, McClusky, ND. Burial will be in the McClusky City Cemetery.
Jeanette Elaine Porsborg was born on October 20, 1947 near Center, ND. She was the daughter of Laurence and LaVerne (Klatt) Porsborg. Jeanette was baptized at the Christ Lutheran Church in Oliver County and attended rural school. She graduated from the Center High School in 1965. During the summer months she helped her father measure fields for the ASCS Office and was a helper at the Headstart Program at the Center school. She moved to Bismarck and attended Bismarck Junior College and worked part time in the Bismarck Hospital employee cafeteria. She graduated with a Secretarial Degree in 1966 and began working as cashier and was later promoted to head cashier at the Bismarck Hospital working there until 1969. Jeanette married Bernell Bonnet on February 28, 1969. They farmed outside of McClusky and were blessed with two children, Brad and Bev. They moved into McClusky in 2001.
Jeanette was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church where she served as Sunday School teacher and the financial secretary. Since 2001 she took part in the making of over 2000 quilts which were distributed through church missions. She would cut the squares, sew them together and assemble the quilts at home and at church. She was an avid gardener and canned many garden crops. Her specialty was pickles, which were enjoyed at church functions and by many friends.
Jeanette is survived by her husband of 52 years, Bernell of McClusky; son, Brad (Tammy) Bonnet of Bismarck; daughter, Bev (Kendon) Faul of McClusky; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Willems of Miles City, MT and Darlene (Edward) Sorge of Wheatland, Wyoming; brothers, Robert (Karen) Porsborg of Bismarck and David (Karen) Porsborg of New Salem; nieces and nephews and special friend Pearl Meckle.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents.
