Jean Geer, 86, Harvey, ND died Friday, January 12, 2024 at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home in Harvey.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Harvey, ND.  Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 16 at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey, ND.  Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Harvey, ND.

Jean was born on December 11, 1937 at Rolla, ND to Robert Clay and Florence Beatrice (Guile) Geer.  She grew up in Rolla and graduated from high school.  Jean attended a 15-month college course and worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Grand Forks for a year. She married Lester Lien in 1955 and moved to a farm near Heaton, ND. They farmed and raised sheep. They had three children, Debbie, Steve and Jeff.  The family moved to Harvey in 1966.  Jean and Lester divorced in 1974.  While living in Harvey, Jean was involved in the Jaycees and served as the Jayceettes President.  Jean moved to Fargo where she worked as an LPN for 13 years.  She moved back to Harvey to be closer to family. She spent her remaining years in Harvey including time spent at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home.

She was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church.  Jean loved reading, especially the Bible. Her other hobbies included doing word puzzles, playing pinochle, coloring, watching WWF wrestling, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Jean is survived by her daughter Debbie (Jeff) Brace of Walker, MN; sons, Steve Lien and Jeff (Sherrie) Lien both of Harvey; 7 grandchildren, Fred (Jess) Bentz, Ashlee (James) Mikesh, Codee Brace; Brandon Smith, Sarah Lien, Justin Lien, Jerome (JJ) Lien; 5 great-grandchildren, Finlee Bentz, Marissa Lien, Brody Lien, Jackson Lien, Andrew Lien.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents; three grandchildren, Adam Lien, Travis Lien, Lacey Lien; three brothers, Roy, Bill and Lloyd.
