Jay M. Faber, 64, Harvey, ND died at his home in Harvey on Tuesday, June 14, 2016.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey, ND.
Burial will be in the Congregational Cemetery, Anamoose, ND.
Jay Morris Faber was born on October 26, 1951 in Minot, ND. He was the son of Orville William and Olive Mae (Hoepfer) Faber. He grew up in several North Dakota cities and graduated from Oberon High School in 1969. He enlisted in the Navy and entered in February 1970. He served on board the USS Wiltsie and was honorably discharged in July 1971. He worked on oil rigs in the Watford City area before going to work for Border States Construction Company. He worked on the curb and gutter crew where he developed his concrete finishing skills. He also worked for Striefel Construction in Harvey. Jay lived in Harvey and at the Veterans Home in Lisbon. He recently returned to Harvey.
Jay was once married to Michelle Plath.
Jay had many hobbies. He loved to fish, golf and ride his Harley. He was also artistic and sketched, did woodworking and making stained glass pictures.
Jay is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Jim Berube of Lake Metigoshe; brother and sister-in-law Neil and Laurie Faber of Stanley; nieces and nephew, Kristen (Kevin) Allard, Eryn Faber and Ryan Faber; great nephew and great niece, Kooper Allard and Kynzie Allard.
Jay was preceded in death by his parents.
