Jason Thomas, 55, rural Harvey died Friday, April 28, 2017 at his home of natural causes.

Funeral mass will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Harvey, ND. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the mass.

Jason was born on November 13, 1961 in Harvey, ND to Frank A. and Magdalena (Volk) Thomas. He grew up on the family farm where he assisted in the dairy and farming operations. He graduated from the Harvey High School in 1980. Employment opportunities ranged from New Mexico back to North Dakota. He was a commercial and residential roofer and over the years also worked for Gray Tec Road Construction and Mack's Farm and RV Center in Harvey. He also owned a Bobcat and provided snow removal and skid steer services. Jason was once married to Deanna Carter. Jason liked to fish and enjoyed music by Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings.

Jason is survived by two daughters, Katrina (James) Cichon, Fargo and Megan Thomas (Kieran Barr) of Forman, ND; son, Shawn (Alexandria) Thomas of Fargo; four grandchildren; mother, Magdalena of Harvey, sister, Ronda  Thomas (Buck Marsalla) of Tuscon, AZ; brothers, Patrick (Jamie Falde) of Loretto, MN, Brian (Becky) of Denhoff, ND, Brad (Debra) of Nashville, Arkansas, Wally (Deb) of Eagle Lake, MN; and his dog Smokey.

Jason was preceded in death by his father and grandson, Shawn Thomas, Jr.
