James Harold Gillian, 54, of Esmond, ND formerly from South Carolina died on Friday, September 30, 2016 at a rural location in Pierce County, north of Harvey, ND.

Services in South Carolina will be held at a later date.

James was born on October 21, 1961 in South Carolina. He was the son of James Henry and Jonell (Berry) Gillian. He grew up in the area of Greenwood and Ninety Six , SC. He was an over the road trucker for many years. He moved to Esmond, ND where he continued to be an independent operator for several years. He most recently drove semi for Close Construction Company.
James is survived by a daughter, Tasha Kako of Greenwood, SC; three grandchildren, Gabriel James Wood, Charles Michael Wood and Angel Nichole Wood all of Ware Shoals, SC; father, James Henry Gillian, Jr., sister, Joy Gillian and brother Jeff Gillian all of Ninety Six, SC.
James was preceded in death by his mother; maternal grandparents, Joe Ellis Berry and his wife Brunell Berry of Saluda, SC; paternal grandparents, James Henry Gillian Sr. and his wife Bonnie (Lovelace) Gillian of Union, SC.
