Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 14 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Harvey, with burial in the church cemetery. Jacki was born on August 3, 1941 in Dorchester, Massachusetts to John J. and Nora (McDonaugh) Mullen.  She grew up and graduated from Quincy High School in 1959.  She married Gerald L. Young on June 3, 1960 in Quincy.  They moved to Detroit.  Jacki attended Macomb County Community College in Detroit, MI.  They moved to Esmond and owned and operated the Corner Bar.  She also worked at the Esmond Public School as an instructional aid.  She also was a Head Start Director in Esmond.  They moved to Harvey in 1980.  Jacki was the bookkeeper at Jerry's Hilltop Sales in Harvey for 32 years.  Jacki was also the custodian at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Harvey and worked part time at a local daycare.

Jacki enjoyed boating and her biggest joy was her horses on their farmstead.  Jacki was a member of the St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Harvey Book Club, Crafty Ladies Homemakers Club, Wells Eagles Aerie Auxiliary, and lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary all of Harvey. Jacki enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She also had many good memories with her numerous and beloved friends in the community.

Jacki is survived by two daughters, Cynthia (Pieter) Borggreve, Stacey Young; 3 grandchildren, Lexi (Dylan) Rudel, Jack Carvell and Andrew Carvell; 7 great-grandchildren.

Jacki was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry; brother, David Mullen.
