Irene Strand, 94, Harvey, ND died Tuesday, December 6, 2016 in the St. Aloisius Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at First Lutheran Church, Harvey, ND. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 12 at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey, ND. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Harvey, ND.

Irene was born on December 12, 1921 near Harvey, ND. She was the daughter of John and Anna (Erickson) Moen. She attended country school. She was once married to Donald McKinven. They had a son named Douglas. They divorced and she moved to Minot with Doug. She married William Strand on December 26, 1952 in Minot. Irene was a waitress at Saunders Drug and worked at Trinity Hospital Cafeteria. They both retired in 1974 and moved to Harvey. Bill died on July 3, 1998. Irene was active in the First Lutheran Church where she was active in WELCA and bible study groups. She also belonged to the Wells Eagles Auxiliary in Harvey and the Harvey Senior Citizens. She enjoyed playing Bingo.

Irene is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Laura McKinven of Coon Rapids, MN, two grandchildren, Wayne (Jane) McKinven of St. Croix Falls, WI and Debra Vincent, St. Paul, MN; three great-grandchildren; brother, Lawrence Moen of New Rockford, ND.

Irene was preceded in death by parents; husband, William; brothers, Tim, Lester, Marvin, Palmer and Russell Moen; sisters, Marlys and Lois.
