Irene Mehrer, 91 of Harvey died Tuesday June 21, 2016 at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home in Harvey.
Funeral services will be held at the Cornerstone Community Church North Campus in Harvey (Formerly Bethel Baptist Church) on Friday, June 24, 2016 at 10:30 a.m.
Visitation will be held at the Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey on Thursday June 23 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Burial will in the Sunnyside Cemetery of Harvey.
Irene was born on October 10, 1924 in Harvey. She was the daughter of Daniel and Rose (Suckert) Martin. She was raised near Manfred and attended country school and graduated from Harvey High School. Irene married Ben Mehrer on October 8, 1944 in Fessenden. They lived and farmed near Kief. Ben died on November 4, 1987. Irene moved to Harvey in 2000. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church of Harvey. She was also a member of the American Legion auxiliary in Butte since 1972 and a member of the Eagles auxiliary of Harvey and a homemakers club. She enjoyed doing crafts and playing bingo. Irene loved to work in her yard and garden. Irene never forgot to send a card for any occasion to her children, grandchildren or great-grandchildren.
Irene is survived by her daughter, Glenda (Curtis) Kline, Harvey; sons, Gary (Rita), Surrey and Gale, Kief; grandchildren, Tracy (Scott) Sys, Sawyer, Tammy (Byron) Anderson, Harvey, Chad (Darcie) Kline, Fargo, Sheila (Justin) Johnson, Minot; seven great-grandchildren, Megan and Matthew Sys, Savanna, Dylan, and Jacob Anderson, Ethan and Makayla Johnson; two step-great-grandchildren; Jarett and Sarah Wahl; several nieces and nephews.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Marvin, Roland, Alvin, Leland, Sam, Robert and Johnny; sisters, Frieda Lakin and Esther Runyon.
