Irene Hauser, 94, of Harvey, ND died Monday, March 9, 2020 at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home, Harvey.  Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 12 at the Assembly of God Church, Harvey.  Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Harvey, ND.

Irene was born on November 27, 1925 at Harvey, ND.  She was the daughter of George Jr. and Miletta (Keller) Bentz. She attended country school near Clifton and graduated from the Harvey High School in 1943.  She became a Registered Nurse by attending classes through the Nurse Cadet Corps in Chicago, Rugby and Williston.  She was a RN in Williston.  Irene married Elmer Hauser on October 17, 1948 in Martin, ND.  They lived on a farm north of Martin.  She was a dedicated farm wife and helped with milking, planting and harvesting.  She was employed by the St. Aloisius Medical Center in Harvey where she was a Registered Nurse and retired in mid 1980's.  Irene also volunteered providing home health care for several years.

Irene was a member of the EUB and United Methodist Church in Martin and taught Sunday School there.  Irene loved to travel and visited the Holy Land with friends and many other places with family.  She enjoyed entertaining and hosted many missionary visitors.

Irene is survived by her daughter, Beverly (Tim) Held of Selz, ND; sons, Dick Hauser (Cindy Schumacher) of Bismarck and Dale (Deb) Hauser of Martin; three grandchildren, Rachel (Scott) Spear of Anamoose, LaDawn (Dustin) Schmitt of Bismarck, Aaron Hauser of Martin; 5 great-grandchildren, Emma, Lydia and Everett Spear, Holden and Cannon Schmitt; sisters, Lenora Hughes of Jamestown, Pearl Swang of Harvey, Violet (Calvin) Buxa of Anamoose, Elaine Baumgartner of Fargo; brother, Donald (Joyce) of Jamestown.  Irene was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Elmer on May 4, 1984.
