It is with sadness that we announce the death of Idell Roller Lesmeister, a beloved mother, grandmother, and devoted member of her community, on October 2, 2024, in Minot, ND at the age of 89.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 7, 2024, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Harvey, ND with visitation being from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at Hertz Funeral Home Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Idell was born on December 22, 1934, in a small house in Hurdsfield, ND, to Leo Roller and Ida Hirschkorn Roller. She spent her early years in North Dakota, attending school in Harvey, where she made lifelong friends and laid the foundation for a life filled with love, family, and faith.
In 1952, Idell married Clarence Eugene "C.E." Lesmeister. Together, they built a life on a farm west of Selz, where they lived until 1981, before moving to Harvey. Clarence died in 2006.
A woman deeply rooted in her faith, Idell was active in her church and community. She was a proud member of the Catholic Daughters, an organization that reflected her devotion to helping others and serving with grace. Whether socializing with friends, bowling with her league, or playing joyfully in the St. Cecilia Bell Choir, Idell brought light and joy to those around her.
In her later years, Idell married Don Weninger and they resided in Harvey.
Idell's greatest joy, however, came from her family. She is survived by her husband, Don Weninger and her five children: Debra (Mark) Dockter, Kent (Candice), Denise (Lon) Wurz, Dean, and Cory (Rebecca). She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, each carrying a piece of her kindness and strength in their hearts. Idell was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence; brothers, Leo Roller Jr. and Arlie Roller; sister, Alice Undem.
Though Idell has left us, the love she shared, the faith she lived, and the joy she brought to the world will remain forever in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
