Obituary

Hilda Rodacker, 98, Harvey, ND died Thursday, June 23, 2011 at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home, Harvey.

Funeral services will be held at the Bowdon Seventh-day Adventist Church of Bowdon on Tuesday June 28, 2011 at 11:00 a.m.

Visitation will be held the Hertz Funeral Home of Harvey on Monday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Burial will be in the Bowdon Seventh-day Adventist Cemetery.

Hilda was born August 19, 1913 in Goodrich, ND. She was the eldest child of John and Lydia (Aichele) Weippert. She grew up in Chaseley and Robinson areas. Hilda attended rural school north of Robinson. She worked at the Jamestown Hospital prior to marrying Roy Arthur Rodacker on April 16, 1934 in Steele. They lived and farmed in Kidder County before moving to the Chaseley area where they farmed until moving to Harvey in 1969. She was the custodian at Keller's Implement in Harvey for a number of years before retiring. Roy died on December 31, 1985.

Hilda was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and was active in the Dorcas group. She was passionate about her gardening and grew the most beautiful flowers. She also crocheted garments and afghans and embroidered tapestries.

Hilda is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Marvin and Julie Rodacker and Kenneth and Pam Rodacker all of rural Chaseley; two granddaughters, Fay (Larry) Fandrich of Fessenden and Holly (Heathe) Widicker of Heaton; great-granddaughter, Hanna of Heaton; four half brothers, Eugene Weippert of Steele, Wilbert Weippert of Hendrum, MN, Clarence Weippert of Ada, MN, Edward Weippert of Columbus, ND, three half sisters, Darlean "Dolly" Pierce of Fargo, Judy Aipperspach of Fargo, Linda King of Grand Forks, ND.

Hilda was preceded in death by her parents; stepmom, Maggie (Rueb) Weippert; brothers, Albert and Reinhold; sisters, Lorraine Gartner and Ruby Aichele; half brothers, John and Emil; half sisters, Bertha, Ellen and Eldeana.
