Obituary

Herbert Sprenger 88 of Denhoff died Friday March 20, 2015 at the St. Alexius Hospital of Bismarck.

Funeral services will be held at the Grace Lutheran Church of McClusky on Wednesday March 25, 2015 at 10:30 a.m.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at the church.

Burial will be in the McClusky City Cemetery, McClusky, ND.

Herbert was born on August 13, 1926 near Denhoff. He was the son of John and Magdalena (Feil) Sprenger. Herbert grew up and attended school at the New German Township #2 in Sheridan County near Lincoln Valley. He began farming with his father and later with his brothers until retiring 1991. He continued to live on the farm with his brother, Emil and sister, Leah. Herbert was a member of the American Legion of McClusky, VFW of Harvey and he was a charter member of the Bismarck Am Vets. Herbert served as commander of the VFW of Harvey and was state commander of VFW. He was a former member of the Wells Eagles Aerie #3080 of Harvey and Kassel Reformed Church of Lincoln Valley. He was a current member of the Grace Lutheran Church of McClusky. Herbert enjoyed music .  He played the saxophone in the Jonny Feil Band. Herbert enjoyed woodworking, reading, cooking, and going to the casino.

Herbert is survived by his sister, Leah Sprenger of Denhoff; brother, Emil Sprenger of Denhoff; numerous nieces and nephews.   Herbert was preceded be his sisters, Helena Hornbacher, Olinda Schuh, Freda LaPerna, Anna Cox, Lydia Lummus and Bertha Wing; five brothers, John, Henry, Adolph, Reinhold, and Martin Sprenger.
