Helen Sherlock Wiest, 74, of Earlsboro, Oklahoma passed away from ovarian cancer on Friday, September 27, 2013 at her home. Funeral services will be held at the St. Martin Lutheran Church of Anamoose on Saturday October 5 at 2 p.m with Rev. Larry Marschner officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

She was born March 29, 1939 to Walter and Julianna Henrietta (Werdin) Sherlock in Anamoose, ND. Helen was raised in Anamoose where she attended school until the 10th grade. She moved to Roy, Montana and graduated with the class of 1957. On June 14, 1958 she married Calvin Wiest at St. Martin Lutheran Church in Anamoose. Helen had lived in North Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Kansas, Pennsylvania and Minnesota before moving to Earlsboro, Oklahoma in 1978. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, reading and music. Helen was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Shawnee where was a member of the alter guild and taught Sunday school and VBS.

Helen is survived by 4 children, Donna (Keith) Gregson, of Asher, OK, Natalie (Ed) Slouffman, of Anchorage, Alaska, Dan "Randy" Wiest of Earlsboro and Paula Wiest, of Konawa, OK; 4 grandchildren, James Ngo, Justin Shannon, Brittany Butt and Bridget Velasquez; 3 great-grandchildren; siblings, Donald (Ferne) Sherlock, of Alexander, ND, Agnes Sherlock, of Anoka, MN and Lester (Monika) Sherlock, of Manassas, VA; sister-in-law, Becky Sherlock, of Wewoka, OK; and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Clement, Kenneth and Gertrude Sherlock; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Sherlock; and granddaughter, Tasha Wiest.
