Helen Dusek, 95, of Harvey, formerly of Anamoose died Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home of Harvey.  Funeral services will be held at the St. Cecilia Catholic Church of Harvey on Monday, March 24, 2025 at 10:30 a.m.

Visitation will be held at the Hertz Funeral Home of Harvey on Sunday March 23, from 3pm until 5pm.

Prayer service will be held at the Hertz Funeral Home of Harvey on Sunday at 5:00 p.m.

Burial will be in the St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery of Selz.

Helen was born on February 28, 1930 in Esmond, ND.  She was the daughter of Steve and Lena (Piatz) Neis.  Helen grew up in Esmond and graduated from the Esmond High School in 1948.  Helen married Joseph Dosch on October 5, 1948 in Esmond.  They lived and farmed near Wellsburg, ND.  Five sons Ronald, Gary, Gerald, Glenn, and Joe were born to this union.  Joseph died on December 28, 1959.  The family then moved to Harvey.  Helen worked at the Eagles Club, Coral Lanes and also the St. Aloisius Hospital in Harvey.

Helen married Frank Dusek on June 24, 1965 in Harvey.  They moved to Anamoose later in 1965.  Two children were born to this union, Blair Dusek and Roxanne Mayer.  Frank had four children from his previous marriage, Kathy Selzler, Linda Kamble, Nancy Vannatta, and Bryan Dusek.  Frank died July 9, 2003.  Helen moved to Harvey in 2004.

Helen enjoyed sewing, crocheting, canning, gardening, watching football, playing bingo and had a large horse radish patch.  Helen was also known for her German dishes of German potato salad and kuchen.   Helen was a member of the St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Harvey Senior Citizens serving as secretary for over 12 years.  She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Anamoose where she was a life member.

Helen is survived by her children from her first marriage, Gary (Becky) Dosch of Lacey, WA, Gerald (Jackie) Dosch of Rugby, ND, Glenn (Kathy) Dosch of Dickinson, Joe (Torrie) Dosch of Anamoose; children from her second marriage, son, Blair Dusek of Minot, daughter, Roxanne (Joel) Mayer of Big Lake, MN; 4 step children, Kathy Selzler of Anamoose, Linda (S.T.) Kamble of Lincoln, Nebraska, Nancy (Gary) Vannatta of Minot, Bryan Dusek of Wilton;   22  grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; brother, John Neis of Buckeye, AZ, sister, Rose Gorlaczky of Broken Arrow, OK.  Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Joe and Frank, son, Ronald Dosch, daughter-in-law, Candy Dusek, sisters, Deloris Richter and Agnes Streifel; step-son-in-law, Woody Selzler.
