Harold Jenner, 92, Goodrich, ND died Saturday, June 26, 2010 at the Turtle Lake Community Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 2, 2010 at Peace Lutheran Church, Goodrich. Burial will be in Goodrich City Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Hertz Funeral Home, McClusky.

Harold was born on April 23, 1918 at Goodrich, ND to Emil and Rosa (Muehlbeier) Jenner. In 1924 the family moved to Kulm, ND. He attended school there. In 1938 he joined the Civilian Conservation Corps and served in Minnesota and Wyoming. Harold was inducted into the army in September 1941 and received his basic training at Ft. Sill, OK. He married Rose Derline on December 6, 1942 in Rapid City, SD. He served as a staff sergeant. His unit took part in the North Africa and Italy theaters and he saw heavy action in Italy. He received a Good Conduct Medal and was honorably discharged September 30, 1945. He then moved to Tuttle where he helped his wife, Rose operate a café. They moved to a farm near Goodrich in 1947 and farmed for two years. They later moved into Goodrich where he worked as a mechanic at Goodrich Machine and later as the second man and eventually the manager of the Farmers CO-OP Elevator. In 1967 he accepted the manager position at the Farmers Elevator in McClusky and retired from this position in 1980 and returned to Goodrich. His wife Rose died on April 3, 2008 after having been married for 62 years. Harold was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church in Goodrich. Harold's hobbies included gardening, woodworking and being a handyman.
Harold took an active part in all the communities he lived in. He became involved with the volunteer fire service at Tuttle and served as a firefighter in Goodrich from 1949 to 2009. He served as Fire Chief and attended many local, regional and state schools and conventions. He was inducted into the Firefighter's Hall Of Fame in Garrison in 2009. He was a lifetime member of the North Dakota Firefighters Association. Harold also served the community as member of the Goodrich and McClusky Ambulance Services from 1956 to 1996. He was a lifetime member of the Albert Block American Legion Post in Goodrich and served with the color guard for many years. He also helped keep up the appearance in Goodrich and was often seen mowing around the museum, city park or private residences.
Harold is survived by two daughters, Aileen (Michael) Erdmann of Turtle Lake, ND and Rosemary (Burdette) Morrison of Robinson, ND; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Loretta Reddin and Virginia Evans both of Rapid City, SD. Harold was preceded in death by his parents; wife; sisters, Eleanor Tosh and Edna Mindt.
