Obituary

Goldie Fiesel 88 of Harvey died Friday May 21, 2010 at the St. Aloisius Medical Center of Harvey. Funeral services will be held at the Mennonite Brethren Church of Harvey on Wednesday, May 26 at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey. Burial will be in the Country Mennonite Brethren Cemetery rural Harvey.
Goldie was born April 19, 1922 south of Martin. She was the daughter of Charlie and Katie (Lautt) Reimche. Goldie and attended the Berlin Township country school and high school in Martin. She also attended business college in Minot. Goldie and Bennie Fiesel were united in marriage on July 15, 1945 at the Country Mennonite Brethren Church near Harvey. They lived in Harvey. Goldie's business college experience served her well during her working career. She was a bookkeeper at First State Bank. She then was the bookkeeper for Gerald Frazer at the Harvey Ring Sale Auction and later kept his books as a cattle buyer. Goldie's artistic skills were put to work when she started Fiesel's Ceramics out of her home in Harvey. She created and taught the skills necessary for making beautiful ceramic objects from the thousands of molds she acquired. Painting ceramics led her to develop a talent for painting scenes on canvas. Goldie became known for ceramics and painting. Bennie and Goldie also owned and operated the Harvey Dairy for a number of years. Bennie died on June 22, 1992. Goldie continued to live at home until June 2005 when she entered the St. Aloisius Nursing Home in Harvey. Goldie was a member of the Mennonite Brethren Church. Goldie is survived by two grandchildren, Heather (Donnie) Fiesel Stockton of Hutchinson, KS and Robyn Lynn Fiesel of Wichita, KS; two great-grandchildren, Corben Stockton and Emmalyn Stockton; one sister, Alice and her husband Leonard Martin of Fessenden; sisters-in-law, Dolly Reimche of Martin, Marjorie Reimche of Harvey, Elma Kleinsasser of Martin, Marilyn Fiesel of Harvey, Lois Rott of Anamoose and LaVerne Fiesel of Martin; brother-in-law, Emil Fiesel of Minot; several nieces and nephews. Goldie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bennie; son, Robin Fiesel; brothers, Charles and Clifford; sister, Edna Reimche. Blessed be the memory of Goldie Fiesel.
