Obituary

Goldie Bennett Crawford, 87, of Angels Camp, California formerly of McClusky, North Dakota died Sunday, December 26, 2010 at the San Andreas Medical Center.

Graveside services will be held Sunday, June 12, 2011 at 2 p.m. in McClusky City Cemetery.

Goldie S. Bennett-Crawford of Angels Camp died Sunday, Dec. 26, 2010 at Mark Twain St. Josephs Hospital in San Andreas. She was 87.
She was born Feb. 9, l923 to Harry and Lillian (Schindler) Bennett in McClusky, ND. In l943 she moved to Oakland, CA where she lived for 22 years and worked for Safeway Stores and Morris Draying Trucking as an accountant. In l965 she moved to San Andreas and went to work for the Calaveras County Office of Education as a Business Executive. In l978 the Office was moved to Angels Camp and Goldie moved her residence to Angels Camp where she continued in the same position for 23 years until her retirement from the County Schools in l988. She married Earl Crawford October 5, l980 and they continued to reside in Angels Camp. They enjoyed traveling to Israel and Italy as well as with their motor home extensively for several years, even traveling to the Northeastern U.S. to see the fall colors. She was a social person and appreciated her family and friends and was always available for whoever may need her help. Her favorite hobby was sewing and she was a regular at the Country Cloth, always wanting to learn more. Her family was special to her as was her church family. She was a pillar of the Angels Camp Seventh-day Adventist church.
She is survived by her caregivers, Tom and Tina Bennett of Angels Camp, one brother, Clyde Bennett (Judy) of Fernley, NV, sister-in-laws Kay Bennett of Concord, CA and Marie Bennett of Auburn, CA and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and five brothers.
A Memorial Service will be held in her honor on January 9, 2010 at 2 p.m. at the Angels Camp Seventh-day Adventist Church. In lieu of flowers, her wish was to make contributions to Maranatha Volunteers International, 990 Reserve Drive, Suite 100, Roseville, CA 95678.
