Gloria Mae Ripplinger, 77, Harvey, ND died Friday, November 1, 2024, at the St. Aloisius Hospital, Harvey.  Arrangement with Hertz Funeral Home of Harvey.

Funeral services will be Friday, November 8, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church of Harvey.   Visitation will be held at the Hertz Funeral Home of Harvey on Thursday, November 7, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.  Public prayer service will be on Thursday at the funeral home at 7:00 p.m.  Burial will be in the St. Petri Lutheran Cemetery, rural Harvey.

Mae was born on February 6, 1947 in Harvey.  She was the daughter of Sofus and Stella (Hanson) Erickson.  Mae grew up in Harvey where she attended school.  Mae moved to California with Stephen Ripplinger in 1966. They got married in 1966 and had a baby girl named Amanda.  They later moved back to the Ripplinger family farm near Esmond.  Mae helped on the family farm and worked at the Artos Supper Club in Harvey.  In 1973 they had twin boys named Scott and Paul.  Mae also worked as a CNA at St. Aloisius Nursing Home in Harvey.  Mae operated the Artos Supper Club from 1990 until 2015. While working at the Artos, Mae was known for her very good food.  Mae then began working for HAV-IT Services in Harvey where she cared for her clients.  She retired in 2023 from HAV-IT due to health reasons. Whether Mae was caring for the residents at the nursing home and HAV_IT, cooking for her guests at the ARTOS, family and friends she did it with love and humility. Mae was a selfless person who will always be remembered for her kind, giving heart.

Mae enjoyed going to her children's and grandchildren's sporting events and a trip to the casino now and then.  Maes children and grandchildren were the most important thing in the world to her. She always went out of her way to make sure that everyone was fed and clothed.  Mae and her brother Gordy were known to be the cooks at the Erickson family events. It is hard to make something exactly like Mae. She puts in a "little of this and a little of that", and it's always perfect.

Mae is survived by her daughter Amanda Ripplinger of Harvey, twin sons, Scott of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Paul (Sheila) of Enderlin, ND.; 3 grandchildren, Hunter (Alyssa) , Michael, and Jasmine (Chase); one great-granddaughter, Noa Mae; brothers, Floyd (Lefty) Erickson of Harvey, Gordon Erickson of Mentor, MN; sisters, Edna Helland of St. Paul, MN, Marcella Seibel of Harvey.

Mae was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Kenneth, Lloyd, Melvin, Morris, Jerry; sisters, Gladys Heilman, Fay Heisler, Deloris Martin, Florence Rose.
