Gerald Young, 75, Harvey, ND died Thursday, July 23, 2015 at the Lutheran Home of The Good Shepherd nursing home in New Rockford, ND.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 27 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Harvey, ND.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service time.

Jerry was born August 10, 1939 in Detroit, MI to Rochus and Catherine (Wiest) Young. He grew up and attended school in Detroit. He joined the Navy in 1956 and served on the Bonne Ham Richard and the USS Wasp aircraft carriers. He was honorably discharged in August 1960. Jerry married Jacqueline A. Mullen on June 3, 1960 in Quincy, MA. They moved to Detroit where Jerry drove truck and later owned a concrete finishing company. They moved to Esmond in 1972 and to Harvey in 1980. They owned and operated Jerry's Hilltop Sales.

Jerry was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church, North Dakota Auto Dealers Association, Lifetime member of the Knights Of Columbus and Lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Jacqueline of Harvey; two daughters, Cynthia (Pieter) Borggreve of Denver, CO and Stacey (Travis) Roller of Glenwood, MN; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
