Gerald F. (Jerry) Rademacher, 84, of Harvey, ND died Monday, March 20, 2023 at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home, Harvey.
Funeral services will be Friday, March 24, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Harvey. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 23, at the Hertz Funeral Home of Harvey from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery in the spring.
Gerald was born on September 14, 1938 at Anamoose, ND to Otto and Anna (Gollnick) Rademacher. Jerry grew up on the family farm and graduated from the Anamoose High School in 1957. After graduating, he worked on the family farm with his father and brother Ray. Jerry married Louise Thomas on June 20, 1961, in Harvey. To this union they were blessed with two children, Roger and Kathy. In 1962 they purchased a farm south of Harvey. Their children grew up there. Jerry loved farm life and took great pride in raising grain and livestock. He retired from grain farming at age 70. He continued to raise cattle until three years ago when his son took over the cattle operation. Jerry was a cattleman right up until the time of his passing. He would ask if the cattle were doing ok and also worry about the haying. Jerry entered the St. Aloisius Nursing Home in March of 2022 and resided there until his passing.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 61 years, Louise of Harvey; son, Roger (Julie) Rademacher of Harvey; daughter, Kathy (Scott) Ulmer, Valley City, ND; grand dog, Riley Ulmer; sisters, Irene (Tom) Hoffahrt, Waterloo, WI, Jeanette Scanlan, Miles City, MT; brother-in-law, David Thomas of Harvey, ND; nieces, Sandy (Mike) Corcoron, Joan (Dennis) Sheets; nephews, David Fisher, Joe (Amber) Fisher, Tom Fisher; and many great nieces and great nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Raymond Rademacher, brother-in-law, John Scanlan; along with other family members.
Jerry's family wishes to thank all the St. Aloisius Hospital and Nursing Home staff, doctors, and nurses for taking such good care of their loved one, Jerry.
